To celebrate the 175th anniversary of the publication of The Return of the Native

Beginning at 10.30am on September 1st, this walk begins at Thorncombe Wood Car Park (NGR SY 724922) and is led by Tony Fincham, THS Chairman.

This is not a circular walk, those bringing cars please meet at the end point: Cull-peppers Dish car park, 10am (NGR SY 814925)

This is a walk of approximately 8 miles in length across Egdon Heath, taking in points of interest from the novel, and accompanied by readings of relevant scenesBring a packed lunch and plenty to drink as there are no facilities en route and RimsmoorPond may be dry.
