Fare Thee Well, Cold Winter

Sunday 3 March at 3.30pm, St Laurence Church, Upwey

Upwey Music presents the Ridgeway Singers & Band, led by Phil Humphries and Tim Laycock,  in 'Fare Thee Well, Cold Winter’, a special programme of Dorset music, stories and poems to celebrate the coming of spring. In a nod to the locality it will highlight songs from Marina Russell, the fine Upwey singer who contributed so many songs to the Hammond brothers when they came collecting in the early 20th century. It will also include tunes from the surviving manuscript book of Richard Luckham, the miller at Broadwey c.1850, who played the flute.
