I have been a sculptor now for over thirty- five years with hundreds of works in public and private collections.

I work in stone, marble and granite and source materials from across the globe. I have travelled extensively to learn from different cultures and to use different materials.

I work in a quarry and studio in Holmfirth in Yorkshire and make large scale public works along side smaller more intimate pieces.

The trees started appearing after travels to India and China where I was astounded at the beauty of the marbles available and the great contrasts achievable when parts of the marble were polished and others tooled.

I use marble from India, Spain, Portugal, Italy and South America and have made many different trees, some with text and others with none.

The Gabriel Oak Tree came about after I had re-read Far From The Madding Crowd, I particularly like the quote and wanted to include it in the oak tree I had designed.

The trees are all carved in Yorkshire and sit on oak plinths too..
