My genetic make-up would have me extract and intensify the already often, almost unbearable emotions in Thomas Hardy's restrained and poignant writings. I hope that I have accomplished this to some small degree, via a few, (hopefully), memorably melodies.

I have always been amazed by the sheer imagination and variety of form in Thomas Hardy's poems. The structures he creates go beyond the conventions of sonnet or villanelle, etc.. To me they are beautiful, great and true representations of the painful ironies and tragedies of human existence.
