Professor Mark Ford and Dr Tony Fincham discuss Hardy's Landscapes

Mark Ford is Professor of English at University College, London, and author of the highly acclaimed Thomas Hardy: Half a Londoner. Other recent publications include the poetry collection Enter, Fleeing (Faber & Faber) and This Dialogue of One: Essays on Poets from John Donne to Joan Murray (Eyewear). He is currently writing a book on Thomas Hardy's poems about Emma.
Dr Tony Fincham is the Chairman of the Thomas Hardy Society, and the author of Exploring Thomas Hardy’s Wessex – an easy to follow introduction to Hardy’s landscapes – ‘the partly-real, partly-dream country’ of his novels and poetry. The book contains a series of walks based upon the texts of Hardy's novels including Far from the Madding Crowd, Tess of the d’Urbervilles, The Mayor of Casterbridge, The Return of the Native and The Woodlanders, along with detailed references to Hardy’s poetic locations.
