Thomas Hardy Creativity Competition
A Student Competition in Conjunction with the Thomas Hardy Victorian Fair
Students between the ages of 9 and 18 are encouraged to enter the Hardy Creativity Competition, with winners to be announced at the Thomas Hardy Victorian Fair on Sunday 4th June.
Please submit an entry of your choice from the tasks below:
- write as poetry or prose a piece of no more than 150 words on an aspect of Hardy or Dorchester that you think is interesting- the workhouse, Max Gate, Hardy’s Cottage, Maumbury Rings , buildings etc
OR
-design some Victorian costumes typical of Hardy’s era
OR
-draw a skimmity ride and research this on the internet or sketch a building in Dorchester
The tasks are deliberately broad in order to make them as inclusive as possible to all students.
There will be prizes for the top three entries.
