Lulworth Castle & Park

Built-in the C17th, this magnificent building is steeped in history. Originally built as a hunting lodge to entertain aristocracy and royalty, it was for centuries the family seat of the Weld family, the current owners of the Lulworth Estate. Ravaged by fire in 1929, it has been partly restored in a pioneering partnership with English Heritage.

St Andrew’s Church

St Andrew’s Church sits to the south of the Castle and the impressive C15th tower predates the Castle itself. The rest of the Church was rebuilt in 1864 and the plans for this were drawn up by a young Thomas Hardy who at the time was working for J. Hicks of Dorchester.
