Sharing a Wedding Anniversary with Hardy

John and Maureen Currie travel from the U.S. to spend their 36th wedding anniversary at Bockhampton

On our first morning in Higher Bockhampton, while waiting for the Hardy Cottage to open, we visited Hardy's grave. (Pictures 1,2,&3)

A few days later on our 36th wedding anniversary we had our picture taken in front of Hardy cottage. This was our first trip outside of the U.S., besides Canada, and we went expressly to see Hardy Country. Our trip was a kind of thanks for the world Hardy both created and preserved in his fiction and poetry. (Picture 4)
