The Consultation for Dorset Council Local Plan closes on Monday, 13th October. If you don't want developers to destroy the landscape that Hardy loved and inspired him to write so eloquently about nature, and to ensure other children have the opportunity to "notice such things" as Hardy witnessed.

Most of the land planned for development is Grade 3 farmland, including land adjoining the River Frome and its floodplain. Objection is not Nimbyism - Dorchester has many brownfield sites that could be used for affordable housing.

Aside from the incredible, timeless views, this landscape is rich in heritage and protected species such as badgers, water vole, bats, grass snakes and supports breeding and wintering birds and other wildlife habitats.

Objection is not Nimbyism - There are many brownfield sites in Dorchester that could be used for housing rather than destroying these fields, and the wildlife habitats the land supports.

Join the Protest at Dorchester Town Pump at 10.30am on Saturday, 4th October
