St George's Day Fair 2025
Fordington Green. Fordington DT1 1LB
Saturday, 29th April from 1pm to 4pm
In 1355, King Edward III gave a life-time charter to Queen Isabella, his mother, to hold an annual fair at Fordington on 23rd April. The fair was reinstated around 60 years ago and is the main fundraiser for St George’s Church.
Held annually, on the village green, courtesy of the Duchy of Cornwall, this traditional country fair is now the oldest in England to honour St George. Enjoy Morris dancers, live music and performance, games, trade stands, food and drink stalls, and of course the Thomas Hardy Society to reinforce Hardy's many links to Fordington
