Stephen Poulter - An Obituary
A Long-Time Thomas Hardy Devotee has Sadly Passed Away

It is with great sadness that we must report the passing of long-time Hardy devotee Stephen Poulter. He had lived in Dorchester since the mid-1980s, and one of the reasons for his move there from Surrey was that he was a keen walker and photographer. After quickly making friends locally he joined a number of clubs and societies, including The Thomas Hardy Society, to which he enjoyed contributing to over many years. Always interested in local history Stephen had a keen interest in investigating and documenting particular subjects or people in detail. He often produced and gave talks on these subjects.
He would have been 95 years old on 1st March, but passed away in Dorchester Hospital on 7th Feburary.
If anyone would like to attend his funeral, it will be held at 12 noon on Thursday 5th March 2020 at St Georges, Fordington. If you would like to leave a personalised message about Stephen then Grassby Funeral Service are hosting a page on their website at http://www.grassby-funeral.co.uk
