In the footsteps of Tess and Angel: A walk around the environs of Wool

Woolbridge ManorPlease join us for a circular walk that visits the imagined settings of the dramatic events that play out during Tess and Angel’s honeymoon in Thomas Hardy’s novel Tess of the d’Urbervilles. The walk also includes picturesque Old Wool and a 12th-century church. The exteriors of ‘Wellbridge Manor’, the Abbey and the Mill will be viewed as we revisit the descriptions of the buildings and events. (Access to the grounds of Bindon Abbey and Bindon Mill are by kind permission of The Lulworth Estate in return for donations to the Weymouth branch of the Samaritans. Please bring cash on the day for the donation.)

Booking is essential as numbers are strictly limited due to access to the private grounds of the abbey and the mill.

N.B. Terrain: Mostly flat. Some stiles and boggy ground. No dogs due to the visit to private grounds.

Tickets: £5
