Local Female Writer honoured

Dorchester Civic Society has submitted an application with Dorset Council for a statue to writer Sylvia Townsend Warne and information board to be erected outside Goulds fashion store.

The life-sized statue will depict the author sitting on a bench with a cat at her feet.  Susie, Dorchester's much-loved feline was used as a model for the cat, included because Townsend-Warner famously loved cats.
