The Hardys at Eton
An excursion to Eton College to view Thomas Hardy artefacts
Friday 10th May 2.30-3.30 at Eton College, Windsor
A very rare chance to view artefacts related to Thomas Hardy and his cousins that have been bequeathed to Eton College over the course of many years.
Among items on display will be paintings by Nat and Thomas Sparks, Hardy's cousins, amateur artists whose works have never previously been on view to the public.
This once in a lifetime opportunity has been coordinated by Stuart Tunstall, the discoverer of the long lost Hardy Reredos in Windsor.
Visitor numbers are strictly limited to 20, tickets will be issued on a first come first served basis.
After 3.30pm, time permitting, there will also be a visit to the Tower Gallery to view the 'Changed Attitudes to Death in the 17th Century' exhibition, "a cheery little number, but a very interesting insight".
Parking is available at Eton Town car park, or roadside spaces, if available, by Eton College.
This event is free. For more information and to book a place please contact Peggy Hider - PCC Secretary New Windsor hiderofhenley@btinternet.com
