A walk across water-meadows and down-land under threat by developers

Thomas Hardy Society and STAND Walk (Save the Area North of Dorchester)

Meet at 11.00am at the bridge at the North end of Friary Lane, Dorchester (SY694909) - the West end of Frome Terrace - for a 3.5 mile walk across the water-meadows and over the downland to the North of Dorchester. This is countryside which will be destroyed by the planned new town of 3,500 houses!

The walk, led by Pippa Lausen and Alistair Chisholm from STAND plus Tony Fincham from the Thomas Hardy Society, will explore the devastating effects that this proposed development would have on Hardy's beautiful and evocative landscape, especially on the setting of his Casterbridge.

All are welcome! The more the merrier!!
