The William Barnes Society Summer Talk by John Blackmore

John Blackmore is a member of the William Barnes Society and an accomplished musician. His CD 'Beauty of Blackmore' is a firm favourite with Society members. John is completing his doctoral degree through the Arts and Humanities Council at the Universities of Exeter and Bristol. John's talk will focus on William Barnes and the role of other nineteenth century regional writers at a time of nation building.  His talk will also feature performances of some of his own compositions as well as readings of Barnes poems.

Tea/Coffee will be served. Donations requested to cover the cost of refreshments. Non-members are requested to pay £ 4 on arrival - cash only.
