A THS walk to accompany the Tess Study Day

Meet outside Hardy's Birthplace Visitor Centre - Thorncombe Woods (NGR SY724922) at 10am for a 4-mile walk following both Tess Durbeyfield and Eustacia Vye across Egdon Heath to Rainbarrow; pausing en route to inspect the two new Natural England/Thomas Hardy Interpretation Boards on Duddle Heath. Appropriate readings from both Tess of the d'Urbervilles and The Return of the Native to be incorporated.

Led by the pre-eminent Hardy topologist Dr Tony Fincham.

Please remember to wear weather-appropriate clothing and footwear. And feel free to bring a packed lunch. There is a small charge for the car park.
