Unveiling of New Hardy Memorial Stone by Claire Tomalin and Wreath-Laying Ceremony in Poets’ Corner, Westminster Abbey Saturday 18th May.

At the end of the London Walk being led by Dr Tony Fincham and Dr Mark Ford, a new memorial stone to Thomas Hardy will be unveiled in Poets’ Corner by the acclaimed biographer  Professor Claire Tomalin in a short thanksgiving service of poetry and prayers, in which a wreath of Stinsford yew will then be laid on the new memorial.

The new stone has been funded by the Thomas Hardy Society from two generous donations.

Meet inside the West Door of Westminster Abbey, by the tomb of the Unknown Warrior, at 3.15 pm.
