Hardy's Budmouth
A THS Conference/Festival Event
Tuesday 26th July at 1.30pm.
A walk around Hardy's Budmouth, where he lived when he wrote Desperate Remedies. Hardy lodged in Wooperton Street, from here we will move on to the Town Bridge dividing Weymouth and Melcombe Regis, along the Harbour past The Old Rooms to Look-Out Hill and Nothe Fort gardens. A short trip on the ferry boat across the Harbour brings us to the George III statue and the Esplanade up to the Jubilee Clock. There will be stops at points of interest and readings from related poems, stories and novels.
Approx. 3 miles. Led by Tracy Hayes. Meet at Dorchester South Train Station at 1:30pm. We will catch the train to Weymouth (two stops, a journey of 10 minutes) and then return by train later in the afternoon. Please wear appropriate footwear.
