Wreath-Laying Ceremony in Poets' Corner

Wreath-Laying Ceremony in Poets' Corner

Poets' Corner, Westminster Abbey

This year's wreath-laying ceremony in Poets' Corner, Westminster Abbey, commemorates exactly 90 years since Hardy's death on 11th January 1928.
As this is also a very significant year, celebrating 50 years since the foundation of the Society in 1968, we hope many of you will wish to come to this very special event, which is alsothe first of our celebratory events in 2018.
The ceremony folllows the 5pm Evensong on Thursday 11th January. At the end of the service we will move to Hardy's monument in Poet's Corner. If you are attending the ceremony only, please meet inside the North Door of the Abbey, fromwhere you will be escorted to Poets' Corner.
The ceremony follows our traditional pattern, with prayers and readings, most of the latter from Hardy's poetry.
