Hardy's Love Poems Filmed at Athelhampton

Join us for the launch reception of the first of these 50 exciting new short films, filmed at Athelhampton House, which played many roles in Hardy's life.

From his youthful poem for Retty, to his late life verses for Gertrude Bugler, Hardy's love poems span from his teenage years to his dotage, the Nicholls sisters, Mrs Scott-Siddons, Gertrude Bugler. 10 Lovers, 50 Poems has been filmed with actors and readers from the New Hardy Players, Dorchester Youth Theatre and others,

Presented by Giles Keating, this special event will showcase a selection of the films, offering unique insights and perspectives, followed by an opportunity to discuss and reflect over drinks.

The videos will be released every fortnight on YouTube, starting on 9th May.
